Mes Dominant Lightbringer
There's been some interesting builds posted but i don't see many builds to deal with Torment area's, i use this build all the time & with a decent LB rank can pretty much Dominate with no problems taking down the "Rain of Terror" groups or any group in the Gate areas.

Lightbringer's Gaze (lvl 4) at the moment
Spiritual Pain
Spirit of Failure
Mantra of Frost
Ether Feast
Mistrust
Rebirth
20/20 spell recharge weapon.
Note: i only use Echo on its own & not paired with 'archain echo' (tbh the thought of using echo & A/echo at the cost of 20 energy before a fight does'nt do it for me).
Enemy, Rain of Terror groups. Use: Cast MoF first for damage reduction, cast Echo* then attack with LBG on a RoT when they cast to activate Echo'd version. Mix up your attacks with Mistrust & LBG (echo'd & skill) on the Terror's, cast S'Failure on the paragon's then leave them for last.
The key thing with this build is the Echo elite, it gives you 30 sec's of the copied skill, LBG has a 15 sec recharge & with the 20/20 weapon you can cast this 4x (if your quick) along with the LB skill itself. when Echo refreshes you can finish off the remaining foes with Echo'd SP (106 damage + 79 to all in area). use Ether Feast as & when needed. When fighting Dryers in the area just Echo Mistrust then SP on them. cast SoF on any melee's for energy management & to help out your Pug's or Hero's then leave for last.
The 2nd groups with Chaos Scythe's etc are more tricky as there groups are more spread out but, these you can lure and they funnel there way to your position and make it more managable. Cast SoF on Chaos then leave till last but focas on the 2 Terror's 1st when they close in this is where MoF helps a bunch.
This build i use all the time in all gate areas, i change MoF for Mantra of Lightning when fighting Margonits in Gate of Secrets. great for chest hunting. Evan in Vabbi i change to Mantra of Flame & LBG for Drain Enchant when fightin Ruby Djinn's & Ether's.
Addition: When using Hero's i use Goren & Melonni as attackers with the same build (minus abbadon skills of course) as the Margonites use in DoA, adrenalin & energy stealing rule in Torment areas.
I've never posted any of my builds up before and i love Domination / insp builds. it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this build, try it out too and give me some feed.

interesting
ive gone through endgame as a paragon, and then a monk, i found it was more the melee stuff that did more damage, though the ele's could be nasty too

Yeah same with my Paragon but i found i got hammered more by the casters than melee's. The melee's do attack you but SoF & change of position or kiteing normaly sorts that out for me thats never been a problem.

I've been thinking about LB farming with my mesmer, only I'd go with both Echo and Arcane Echo, for even more Gazing fun.

I hear what your saying but you have to take the enviromental effects into account in torment explorable too. through one gate 'spells cost 40% more' through another 'spells take an extra 3 sec's to recharge' etc so to use A/Echo & Echo would use up too much energy before you started a fight thats why i left it out on my build & just used echo (E) instead.
The skills are clear cut so you know what to use on each enemy & my LB is lvl 4 atm so all casters get hit 100 damage if i remember right, warrior armour protects them from that amount of damage but if you interupt them using 'healing sig' they get hit for 135 damage so that makes up for it.

I don't see the point of using multiple times LBG when a mesmer can use LBG once, and then spiritual pain, energy surge and mistrust, which do armor ignoring damage, contrary to LBG.
Spiritual pain owns LBG IMHO.

Well, I don't know...ability to damage and Interrupt multiple foes for no energy is quite a plus for LBG. It's the Interruption thing that gets me mostly.

Sounds like you've never met the "Rain of Terror " mobs yet! Right now my Mes has lvl 4 lb rank, the LBG aoe is 105 damage to all casters and thats just at lvl 4 rank, e-surge is a great skill but at only deals 80 damage maxed out plus lbg has 15 sec recharge against 20 for e-surge & with a 20/20 weapon well you get the picture.
Mistrust & SP are already in the build i just replace e-surge with a much more powerfull skill that cost less energy & has faster recharge. you say SP owns LBG? i think you may want to rank up some more then your views will change, SP is cool as but not all the enemies are stood by spirits, (also 20 sec recharge again) Remember this build is for Realm of Torment, outside of this i have other builds just as effective.
